Freedom Fighters’ Monument

That is one more place bringing us back to the very painful part of our history but still making us to be proud of what we are. Not far from the monument was the headquarters of the NKVD. The locals used to call it “Stribynas”. Exactly at the place the partisans and their informants were tortured, murdered and buried in some cases. The monument was opened in 2006 to commemorate the Day of Civil Resistance. Architect – A. Daunora.
