The Palendriai Hillfort

The hillfort is at a distance of 5 kilometres south of the town, visible from the highway Kaunas-Klaipeda. Together with the Prabauda hillfort it was in an active use while fighting the Teutonic Order (the end of the 13th – the beginning of the 15th c.). The wooden castles used to stand on both hillforts.
