The oak was given the name of a priest, humanist, educator Mikalojus Daukša, who was the priest of Betygala in 1592-1600. It is not known whether the oak was planted by his own hands or to honour him. However, the tree grows on the slope of the stream that was loved by him. The trunk circumference 5 meters, height 27 meters.
